I started things off before bed at 4:30 this morning watching A Serious Man with friends. Sculpted from the Book of Job, it’s clearly an Old Testament movie. Sure there’s the dybbuk, but leave this anxiety-filled movie for your Fall viewing schedule.

Then there’s the hot dog paella. You gotta give me that these aren’t just any hot dogs, but I won’t blame you for asking if a Spring celebration should really have so much to do with leftovers. (Answer: it should if you’ve missed six of thirteen work-weeks in 2010 on account of unplanned travel.) Turns out it wasn’t bad, but you’d have to be a fool to advertise on the internet you’d be trying it again next year.

I was angry when Ralston-Purina, focusing their energies on the chocolate chip flavor, stopped production of vanilla Cookie Crisp. I was nine years old. I wrote them a letter.

And so began my political activism, and relative indifference toward chocolate.
